1st - 4th graders begin in a large group format where they are engaged in some zany pre-session activities, followed by a creative lesson from God's Word. The lesson is further reinforced when children go into small group discussion and experience a variety of interactive and kid-appealing stations. We close with a large group recap and oftentimes, a thought-provoking challenge.
Fifth graders are shown how the Bible fits together as a whole. Many of these students have heard Bible stories over the years, while others hear the amazing Bible accounts for the first time. In each case, we strive to help 5th graders understand the Bible message through small group discussion and peer relationship building in a relevant, fun environment.
Other Things for Kids at Lakeside:
God & Me / Family Classes: These classes help kids (1st – 5th grades) learn more about the Bible and apply God’s truth to their lives. Offered twice a year, the classes are recognized by scout and other organizations to earn the religious award badges. Children are welcome to attend whether they participate in any of these organizations or not.
Special Needs Kids Klub: This Klub is for children with special needs and their siblings ages 2 and over. We provide appropriate care and fun activities for the kids, while parents enjoy a much needed break. Kids Klub is on the first Friday of each month (6:00pm to 9:00pm) at the church. Reservations must be made in advance each month for kids to participate. It is a lot of fun for both the kids and parents!
