Valuing you and your child’s safety is a priority to us. We have several policies and procedures in place to help ensure that your child’s time spent at Kidsfest is safe.
- All Kidsfest volunteers are thoroughly screened and a background check is performed PRIOR to any one on one interaction with the children.
- No one under the age of 12 is allowed to carry infants or children.
- Men and unscreened parent helpers are not allowed to change diapers or accompany children to the restroom.
- No sick children are allowed in the classroom. If a child displays symptoms of an illness while in the classroom, the parent will be notified to remove the child.
- All children are to be checked in by their parent or guardian and depending on grade level, to be picked up at the end of the gathering by their parent or guardian. Fourth and 5th grade students are allowed, with permission from their parents, a Fast Pass allowing them to dismiss themselves at the end of the gathering. Both the parent and child are issued a security sticker. Children are only released to the adult presenting the correct security sticker. Siblings are not allowed to pick up younger brothers or sisters.
- We maintain not only fire marshal limitations on classroom sizes, but adult to child ratios as well. Nursery 2:1; Walker (12 – 24 months) 4:1; 2 & 3 year olds 6:1; 4’s – kindergarten 8:1; 1st – 5th grade 10:1. When maximum room capacity or adult to child ratios are met, the classroom is closed. If space allows, an overflow classroom will be set-up and directions are then posted on the closed classroom door.
- If a child’s behavior is either disruptive or dangerous to other children and/or teachers, the parent will be contacted to remove the child.
- If you are needed at any time during the gathering, your security sticker number will be shown on the projection screens in the auditorium.
- Parents must not leave the campus while their children attend Kidsfest.
- All suspected child abuse will be reported to the proper authorities.
