Mike Klockenbrink was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 24, 1956. Mike joined the U.S. Navy in 1975 and served as an X-ray technician and Labor and Delivery Room Technician. This experience allowed Mike to deliver his second son, Kyle. Mike became a paramedic for the city of Zion, IL in 1978 and served in a volunteer capacity for two years.
Mike met his wife, Tracy in 1981 and was married in July of 1984. They have three boys – Eric, Kyle, and Kory. When not at work, Mike is involved in karate with his boys, likes to play softball, golf, bowling and horseshoes.
Mike worked for W.W. Grainger Industrial Supply for 16 years in many different capacities from branch manager, regional quality manager, district sales manager and regional operations manager. Before coming to serve at Lakeside Church, Mike was asked when he was going to "quit climbing the corporate ladder and start climbing the Kingdom ladder." January 2000 was the answer.
Mike has several different aliases around Lakeside: Dr. Phil, Mr. Soon, Sledge and most recently HR or Hot Rod.
